We have lost control of large scale dumping in most towns and cities. I love the thought of being able to repair broken equipment and such ,BUTT this is africa, it’s easier to throw it in the bush, nearest dam, river, stream. Put it on the roof to add a bit of weight for when the wind blows, etc.,etc.,etc. Keep up the great work. Regards, francis.

Sometimes these can get covered in ink and stop the printer from working.

Their laser cartridges are fitted with them too so that the printers will not work when the chips count down to zero. I believe it is designed to prevent them being refilled (to insufficient standards), which is a shame as they can be fairly easily re-filled several times and used again with no discernible ill effects. To date the only way we have found to get round this is to replace the chips when refilling the cartridges – but it’s still better and cheaper then needlessly replacing or ‘remanufacturing’ a very specifically manufactured component.

If anything, we have divergent interests from waste contractors, who get paid per weight for discarded electronics.
