We went to the Open Knowledge Festival in Berlin this month to run what we called an “E-waste Exploration“. More than anything, we wanted to test the idea of running future events, like hackathons. The environmental cost of our electronics consumption is a global problem, requiring a global response. For Earth Day, we shout about the global issue of climate change and electronic waste while we recognise the power of repair to respond to these challenges.
This week, we were really excited to deliver our first lesson remotely to a classroom in Chicago. Our lesson really provokes students to think about the material aspects of the internet and our digital culture. Students were very engaged.
