Apart from being talented with electronics and having a passion for fixing, Zak believed that things should be made to last. We had many conversations about the evils of 'planned obsolescence' and the waste it created.
I think he would have supported the Restart Project, which attempts to address these issues by empowering us (well, those who don't share his many talents) to repair our devices instead of throwing them away.

How it works: You will be redirected to PayPal to complete your donation with your debit card, credit card, or with your PayPal account. Once complete, you will be redirected back to this site to view your receipt.
Add 25% more to your donation at no cost to you. A Gift Aid declaration allows The Restart Project to claim tax back on eligible donations. It means that for every £1 you donate to The Restart Project we can claim back 25p, at no extra cost to you.
By ticking the "Yes" box, I agree I would like The Restart Project to reclaim the tax on all qualifying donations I have made, as well as any future donations, until I notify them otherwise. I understand that if I pay less Income Tax and/or Capital Gains Tax than the amount of Gift Aid claimed on all my donations in that tax year I may be asked to pay any difference. I understand that The Restart Project will reclaim 25p of tax on every £1 that I give.
