Apart from being talented with electronics and having a passion for fixing, Zak believed that things should be made to last. We had many conversations about the evils of 'planned obsolescence' and the waste it created.

I think he would have supported the Restart Project, which attempts to address these issues by empowering us (well, those who don't share his many talents) to repair our devices instead of throwing them away.
