Sustainable Thornton Heath is for anyone and everyone, no matter whether you know lots or nothing about climate change and other environmental issues, and whether you have made some or no changes to your lifestyle yet to live more sustainability. We are a group committed to learning, sharing and supporting each other to live more sustainable lives and to help make Thornton Heath more sustainable.
Sustainable Thornton Heath runs monthly ‘Pop-up Sustainable Living Hubs’ in Thornton Heath and the fourth Saturday afternoon (1-4pm) of every month (except August & December), at the local Salvation Army. Entrance is free and people can get free cycle repairs, free clothing repairs, free sustainability-themed workshops / talks, refills of cleaning & bodycare products, vegan refreshments, a ‘Kids’ Zone’ (themed along sustainability), and lots of free information, advice and inspiration from lots of local groups and organisations on many sustainability themes (e.g. transport, energy, activism, financial services and food).
Very soon we hope to add a Restart Repair Party to the hubs, and have a number of local volunteers lined-up to begin. We just need a couple more to start!
