Sustainable Thornton Heath is for anyone and everyone, no matter whether you know lots or nothing about climate change and other environmental issues, and whether you have made some or no changes to your lifestyle yet to live more sustainability. We are a group committed to learning, sharing and supporting each other to live more sustainable lives and to help make Thornton Heath more sustainable.
Sustainable Thornton Heath runs bi-monthly ‘Pop-up Sustainable Living Hubs’ in Thornton Heath on the 3rd Saturday afternoon (1-4pm) of the respective months (Jan, Mar, May, Jul, Sep & Nov) at the local Salvation Army. Entrance is free and people can get free help with cycle repairs, free clothes mending skill sharing, free sustainability-themed workshops / talks, refills of cleaning & bodycare products, vegan refreshments, a ‘Family Zone’ (themed along sustainability), and lots of free information, advice and inspiration from lots of local groups and organisations on many sustainability themes (e.g. energy, activism, financial services and food).
In between these hubs we are also hold repair parties at another venue in Thornton Heath, St Albans the Martyr, with the same timing as the hubs (i.e. 3rd Saturday of the respective months (Feb, Apr, Jun, Aug, Oct, Dec)), 1-4pm).
