Invite your MP to repair with us!

We would love our friends and supporters to invite their MPs to fix with us at a November Restart Party in Parliament. The time is ripe for government to feel what needs to change

  • A story on lowering VAT for repairs (in Sweden!) went viral this month.
  • HP got rebuked for disabling features on its printers via secret update. Samsung rushed and released a dangerous phone.
  • Mobile repair shops, like our friends Lovefone, are growing but other repair businesses need a big boost.

Please share this text (or a personal remix) in an email invite to your MP (find your MP here), suggesting they get hands-on and repair with us!

Is your slow laptop driving you crazy? Desperate for a cup of tea but kettle on the blink?

You are not alone in your frustration with electrical devices that are not doing what you want. Electrical and electronic waste (WEEE for short) is one of the fastest growing waste streams in the UK, as people ditch their annoying tech.

This leads to increased cost for individuals buying new products, and more cost for the taxpayer and companies in trying to reduce this potentially hazardous waste stream. But we can do better with WEEE.

Join The Restart Project in Portcullis House (Attlee Suite) on November 8th from 11am to 1pm, kindly sponsored by Helen Hayes, MP Dulwich and West Norwood.

Bring along your broken gadgets and our volunteer fixers (as seen on Hugh’s War on Waste) will help you to repair them. Along the way we will share our ideas for how to repair our use of resources too.
