Description

Tell the truth, we know you’ve all been wondering when the next Repair Café will be! Well wonder no more! We’re booked and ready to go with Clooney Community Centre on the 21st which also happens to be International Repair Day. So don’t be repair shy, get yer’ broken bits and bobs and bring them along for our volunteer fixers to get a look. If we can’t fix it we’ll aim to signpost you to a local business. Things we like to try and fix are (but not limited to):

Small household electricals ( All PAT tested by our team)

Toys

Textiles

Leather

Bikes

Electronics (Software diagnostics)

Small pieces of furniture or woodwork

Magic Wands

Basically we’ll give most things a go!

*Arrive early to avoid disappointment esp if it’s an electrical item

Repair Café Foyle

Repair Café Foyle is a 'Repair & Share Foyle' project, initially incubated under the charity, Zero Waste North West, before becoming an independent community interest company.

To date, we have formed a core team of volunteers willing to 'have a wee go' at doing basic repairs on bikes, small household electrical items, woodwork, mechanicals such as sewing machines and clocks, and of course a strong textile team - that includes a leather specialist.

We travel around our community to host venues and are excited to develop our project further. We are very grateful to the team at Repair Cafe Belfast, who has given us invaluable advice as we embarked on our journey. We are also members of the Northern Ireland Resources Network - working to promote sustainable reuse and repair across Northern Ireland.
