Volunteers at a Restart Party fixing devices, cropped on hands

Description

On Saturday 15th October we will be joining organisations across the globe to host a Repair Café in celebration of International Repair Day.

Bookings are now open and our skilled volunteer repairers from the Cambridgeshire Repair Café Network and local technology company Sentec, a Xylem brand, are looking forward to mending your:

  • Electrical items
  • Mechanical items
  • Bikes
  • Clothing and textiles
  • Jewellery

If you can carry it to us, we will be happy to take a look and try to mend it for you!

There will be homemade cakes, teas and coffees to enjoy while you wait. Our repairs are free. We welcome donations to help us expand our network

Cambridgeshire Repair Cafe Network

Repair Cafes are distinct from Restart Parties, but there is considerable overlap, and much to be gained from sharing information.  They are co-ordinated from the Netherlands (http://repaircafe.org), and are not in competition with Restart Parties (there's more than enough to fix for us both!)

Repair Cafes tend to be less hi-tech than Restart Parties, though we will tackle computers, laptops, tablets and phones when requested.  Repairs are always free, and a cafe (which charges modest prices) is associated with the event, to cater for those who are waiting to be seen.

Cambridge Carbon Footprint co-ordinates Repair Cafes in the Cambridge area. Learn more here: https://cambridgecarbonfootprint.org/repair-cafes/
