Description

Come to the monthly Sustainable Living Hub, where we’ll have fixers on hand to repair broken electronics. As a reminder, we ask that you observe the following rules:

  • Keep weight of appliances to what is easily carried (no more than 10kg)
  • No microwaves or mobile phones

Remember, we can not guarantee a fix for your broken tech. We also operate on a first-come, first-served basis; wait times will vary depending on how many people arrived before you. There’s plenty to do at the Hub while you’re waiting!

Sustainable Thornton Heath

Sustainable Thornton Heath is for anyone and everyone, no matter whether you know lots or nothing about climate change and other environmental issues, and whether you have made some or no changes to your lifestyle yet to live more sustainability. We are a group committed to learning, sharing and supporting each other to live more sustainable lives and to help make Thornton Heath more sustainable.

Sustainable Thornton Heath runs bi-monthly 'Pop-up Sustainable Living Hubs' in Thornton Heath on the 3rd Saturday afternoon (1-4pm) of the respective months (Jan, Mar, May, Jul, Sep & Nov) at the local Salvation Army. Entrance is free and people can get free help with cycle repairs, free clothes mending skill sharing, free sustainability-themed workshops / talks, refills of cleaning & bodycare products, vegan refreshments, a 'Family Zone' (themed along sustainability), and lots of free information, advice and inspiration from lots of local groups and organisations on many sustainability themes (e.g. energy, activism, financial services and food).

In between these hubs we are also hold repair parties at another venue in Thornton Heath, St Albans the Martyr, with the same timing as the hubs (i.e. 3rd Saturday of the respective months (Feb, Apr, Jun, Aug, Oct, Dec)), 1-4pm).
