Description
We are pleased to say that this event is in partnership with London Borough of Waltham Forest supported by Recycle for London as part of their wider work to encourage people to reuse and repair stuff.
We are delighted to run our first Restart Party at Chingford Parish Church Hall (St Peter and St Paul, The Green, Chingford Green, E4 7EN).
We can help you learn how to fix all kinds of devices, starting with troubleshooting, advising on spare parts if necessary and more. Take back control of your e-stuff, never feel victim to obsolescence again. Slow laptops, broken printers, smartphones, coffee grinders, lamps, kettles – you name it. We will have a go at fixing most anything with a plug or battery and which can be carried – we don’t do white goods like fridges because of the size, or microwaves (because of safety issues).
Please arrive at least 30 minutes before the end of the event if you would like help and remember: we’re happy to help you pick up tips on how to repair. We are not repair professionals, and Restart Parties are a community self-repair space. We can give you tips on how to keep your gadgets going longer but it is not a formal training course.
It is first come, first served. There is no need to book and no charge.
Attending means that you take responsibility for your own gadget, your own data, so please do not forget to back-up your data. And bring all relevant cables and leads.
