Description
The Repair Roadshow is popping up this month at the Woolston Community Library, joining forces with Roimata Food Commons to bring your community a fun afternoon of repair and fresh kai.
The Ōtautahi Repair Revolution began as a reaction to the throwaway culture we have become accustomed to. We pride ourselves on the level of connection and intimacy at our events, which stimulate conversation about repair and build resilience in our communities.
We have a diverse range of volunteers with different levels of experience, including but not limited to:
—–
Electrical technicians with experience in 220v appliances and 12v electronics including computers, phones, and other gadgets; sewers using sewing machines and hand mending; knife and tool sharpening; plastic welding, gluing, bonding and screwing.
—–
We receive offers from new volunteers following each event but they may not be regular attendees, if you have something that is not on this list reach out or scan our Facebook page to see what other services have been offered.
We have access to some basic materials but If your broken thing needs specific parts to fix it, please bring them along.
