Celebrating International Repair Day – repair lowers carbon emissions

We’re celebrating International Repair Day with a number of activities in the lead up here in London and online. Join us! This year’s theme, just in time for UN climate negotiations: repair lowers carbon emissions.

Repair is essential! Here is how we celebrated International Repair Day

“Repair is Essential” – this is the theme we chose for this year’s International Repair Day. In London, an online team of volunteers mapped 45+ repair businesses in London to be considered for inclusion. Small groups met repair businesses in Crystal Palace, Shepherd’s Bush and Tooting.

Celebrating International Repair Day and London Repair Week

Normally on International Repair Day we run a large Restart Party, to celebrate the day together with as many of our volunteers as possible. This year, on 17 October we invite Londoners to help us celebrate the independent repair shops who help us all stay connected, especially during lockdown.

International Repair Day with London businesses

We hosted a celebration of International Repair Day event in Brixton at our home 3Space International House. It was the biggest event we’ve run in years. We wish every Restart Party could be like this!

Repairing for the Earth, repairing everywhere

The environmental cost of our electronics consumption is a global problem, requiring a global response. For Earth Day, we shout about the global issue of climate change and electronic waste while we recognise the power of repair to respond to these challenges.
