First protest for the right to repair in Brussels

Together with a broken fridge and broken appliances, we took part in what must have been the first-ever protest for spare parts, in front of the EU institutions this morning. An excellent start to a multi-year campaign to ask Europe to defend citizens’ right to repair.

Problems with the electronics and appliances are endemic, and industry is increasingly taking away our right to repair products, let alone making better products. We’re tired of the “take, make and dispose” economy, and there is a role for regulation. Enter Europe.
